getting closer.
How could we know when we ended up with the name of the Ford
Motor companies most popular American Van that it would take us this far? Since
2000 we've released 3 singles and our Debut album "music is
stupid" for Seriously Groovy, an EP for Badmusic, a split single for
Fierce Panda and appeared on comp's for label's like the jonson family
(with Billy Mahonie, Wolf Colonel, Old Time Relijun, Reynolds, etc), Unlabel
(with Joeyfat, Charlottefield, etc), Loretta (with Enon, Fuck,
Calexico, etc) and loads of others. In 2002, with the release of the album, we
even got to record a session for John Peel, which was broadcast in
December that year. Thus finally dispelling our parents' doubt that we weren't a
proper band.
Since the start we have peddled our saviours of indie rock
style music to as many people as possible all over the UK, even reaching as far
as Italy and Holland. We've been lucky enough to play with great bands of every
conceivable flavour; Pram, Pedro the Lion, Max Tundra, Karate, Cat
on Form, the Lapse, Billy Mahonie, Twelve Hour Turn, Stanton, Themselves,
Reynolds, OUTHUD, joeyfat, spoon, Part Chimp, Pinback, and loads
more.
In 2003 we released the album in Germany, to widespread
critical nodding of heads and aplomb. Heartily encouraged, we set about making
our new record and listening to loads of other peoples new (and old) records
too. We hope to pleasantly surprise our friends with it, and we consider
everyone who listens to us a friend. We still think music is stupid, and it's
still busting our asses just as much as our day jobs, for much less money.
Somewhere, though, between writing the last album and putting it out. We noticed
the world went pretty stupid too. Thinking about it we're just trying to tell
people our versions of truth and beauty, and maybe that part's not so stupid.
That's why the next album's titled "this band isn't funny anymore",
thanks for reading.
